An Ensign can only be purchased by the National or State Headquarters of the Air Force Association, the RSL, or other institutions or organisations (including Funeral Directors ) as considered appropriate and is not made available to the general public.

Each of the state divisions has been provided with their own certificate to authorise them to purchase their own Ensign.

The Certificate of Authority outlines the protocols associated with the use of the Air Force Ensign.

The Ensign should be displayed in a respectful manner in keeping with the honour and traditions conferred upon a military flag.
